A Brief Biography,
I was born and raised in northern Illinois, just 10 minutes from the Wisconsin border and about 45 minutes north of Chicago. After receiving an Associate of Arts degree from the College of Lake County, I went on to attend Florida State University, majoring in Psychology.
Working my own way through college, I was employed as a laborer, then carpenter of a North Shore General Contractor in the high-end north-shore suburbs of Chicago. In the winter of 1983 work was slow and I decided to go into business at the age of 23. Specializing as a small builder in new construction, I built 38 homes over 16 years while acquiring my real estate license in 1986 and subsequently an Illinois Broker's license in 1989.
I decided to relocate to Oregon in 1997, after being a broker for 14 years and general contractor for 16 years in Illinois. My skills in business management and organization found a creative outlet in the Portland area by forming an Auto Brokerage firm in 1997. I subsequently decided to get back to my roots of real estate in 2000. As one associate simply stated, "Mark is the most organized and detail-oriented Realtor that I have seen in Oregon".
