SW Washington - September 2005 - New Listings Soar As Inventory Continues to Loosen
New listings climbed 44.6% in September 2005, which eased inventory to 2.6 months, up from 2.2 months in August. Pending sales rose 21.6% while closed sales increased 18.2%. Comparing the 12 months ending with September 2005 to the 12 immediately prior the average sale price climbed 14.7%.

Portland Metro, Oregon - September 2005 - New Listings Set Record for the Year But Inventory Rises
New listings hit a record for the year, rising 21.3% in September 2005 compared to September 2004. Pending sales increased 17.7% while closed sales rose 5.1%, inching inventory up to 1.9 months, an increase from the 1.6 months in August but well below the 2.8 months available in September 2004. Comparing the 12 months ending with September 2005 to the 12 immediately prior the average sale price climbed 14.1%.
